Stroopwafels

If there was something I would really miss (among other things) if one day for a reason or another I decided to move from the Netherlands to another country (not that I am planned to, though) It is the stroopwafel.

I am addicted to stroopwafels.

Smile I just love the name, between that and your description I just want one. Do you buy them, or are they made in shops....

Oh Mix, for the first time, last night I worked with a man from the netherlands... He's only been with us a little while, he's from a town called Loenen. This world is getting so small.

You do buy them from most supermarkets and you can a big one at public markets :)

I think that colleague of yours from Loenen near the beautiful city of Utrecht.

By the way, check my last comment on "brighter than a thousand suns" when you have time

You were go right Gale - Mix, these sound awesome. Obviously I now need to go and buy a waffle maker (ironically I was thinking about doing just that on the drive home today) and start cooking the for Gale :-)

Much appreciated!

Josef and I had a wafflemaker, in the shapes of hearts (God I'm a romantic..lol) but he 'borrowed' it when he moved out...

MG. If you can come up with these you are truely a culinary Goddess!

Mix, we tried to find his town on a map, but they werent very detailed. He said there were beautiful lakes...

I must say I was struggling with his accent ..lol, but he spoke of the Iraqi people who now live in his country with a very high regard.A facinating man, he left the Netherlands police service to come here to Australia, he works with us now and is about to leave for the Northern territory..

Ahhh i waffle on...lol

Wafflemaker in the shape of heart for a romantic woman who listen to Guns'n Roses?? that's a bit risky LOL

I looked in the map and there are towns called with that name, one near Utrecht (I mentioned that) and the other is near the city of Appeldorn. Look in google maps, it is there.

I am glad he has a good impression of Iraqis living in the Netherlands (hum hum)

Mountingirl, maybe, just maybe you can find the original Dutch waffles by a cookies shop or speciallised Belgian shops selling their famous choccolates!
